An impressive nineteenth century oil painting depicting a river through a highland landscape. There is a cottage beyond and a path winding around the left hand side. Presented in a large gilt frame and signed in the lower left. The location in inscribed on the reverse. Signed. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals restoration to small areas of craquelure. There are some small losses to decorative mouldings on the frame but overall the appearance is good.
