An utterly charming early 20th Century Impressionist oil scene showing a gaggle of white geese being herded by a man with a stick. The scene is covered in delicate, picturesque dappled sunlight, filtering down through the branches above on the the geese and grass. The artist has signed to the lower right and the painting has been presented in an early 20th Century gilt frame with low relief acanthus leaf strap work. There is a canvas stamp to the reverse. The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some aging to the frame.
