Painter born in Milton Regis, near Sittingbourne, Kent, the daughter of a farmer. She studied under Francis Bate who ran the Applegate Studio, a small art school in Hammersmith, London, in the 1890's. Between 1891-99, she exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Society of Women Artists, and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in London; and at Nottingham Castle Museum.
