Montanarini travelled extensively, visiting France and the Netherlands. After the War he became director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and a member of UNESCO, which he held until 1976.
Luigi Montanarini was born in Florence in 1906. In 1927 he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and began the artistic and emotional bond with Felice Carena, his mentor and friend.
