Belgian-born Louis Haghe, working in England, was arguably the finest lithographer of the nineteenth century. Together with William Day he formed the Day & Haghe (later Day & Son), which became the most famous early Victorian firm of lithographic printing in London, appointed 'Lithographers to the Queen' in 1838. We have a selection of works from Haghe’s most ambitious project - after David Roberts' ‘The Holy Land, Syria, Idumea, Arabia, Egypt & Nubia’, published 1840-7, as well as over 20 scenes from Belgium and Germany.
