The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the pastel and light wear to the frame. Areas of the frame have been carefully touched in with gilt-effect paint.

Artist Biography
French artist Louis Fortuney was notably a painter, pastellist and lithographer. He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse. He produced paintings for the Ministry of the Navy. His art is inspired by Parisian life: in the Belle Époque but also by the sea and its environment.
