From a collection of drawing by Lory Adler, illustrator and animator. Some of the drawings in the collection are dated ’83 and it is likely that they all date from around this time. His simple portrait line drawings expertly capture expressions, looks and personalities. The incidental characters, astutely observed from life, include women in conversation in Rome, a man on a cross-channel ferry, and many South Asian portraits of women in saris and turbaned men.
