With a keen eye for light, reflection, and atmosphere, Petrovich brings maritime scenes to life, conveying both the thrill of competition and the peaceful solitude of open seas.
Baykov Leonid Petrovich was a Russian and Soviet painter, who lived and worked in Saint Petersburg (formerly Leningrad). He was regarded as one of the representatives of the Leningrad School of Painting and was a member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists. He participated in exhibitions from 1943 onwards. One of the most important exhibitions he participated in was "All-Union Art Exhibition", Moscow, 1951, a significant event showcasing Soviet art, featuring works by artists from across the USSR, and often included pieces that reflected the themes of the October Revolution, socialist construction, and the lives of ordinary people.
