Late 19th Century Watercolour - Cattle On A Promontory
Description
A fine traditional late 19th Century watercolour with delicate pen and ink detailing. The scene shows an expansive lake, surrounded by rolling green hills. The sun shines softly from behind a rocky outcrop at the left side and illuminates a group of cattle, grazing on a promontory. The artist has wonderfully captured the gentle glow of the setting sun that lightly brushes the clouds.
The painting is unsigned and presented on wove laid to heavy wove.
On wove laid to heavy wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is an area of discolouration and abrasion to the left of centre. Dirtying and discoloration to the margins of the wove.
