An atmospheric nighttime oil landscape showing the majestic Derwent Waters in the Lake District under a full moon. The delicate moonlight picks out the ripples on the water and highlights the rocks and undergrowth around the banks. The painting is unsigned and the artist has inscribed the location to the reverse. The painting has been presented in a 20th Century gilt frame. There is a canvas stamp at the reverse dating this painting circa 1900. On canvas.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and darkening. The frame has some surface scuffing.
