A highly ornate late 19th century gilt picture frame, finished with a bold running pattern to the inner window, acanthus details to the swept rail and elaborate shell and acanthus corner mouldings, in an almost square profile.

Signs of wear to the frame include small moulding losses, losses to the gilt and running patterns, as well as fine cracks to the top left corner. Various repairs made to the running patterns and acanthus ornamentation.
