A delightful and detailed 1898 watercolour by the 19th Century artist L. Fosbrooke, entitled 'A Sussex Village'. The artist works in a typical style of the period, depicting a bucolic cottage with a tower behind. Fine brushwork emphasises the textured materials in the composition, and the dimensions of this work are particularly good. Well-presented in a gilt washline mount with thin gilt wooden frame, as shown. Signed and dated. On wove.

In good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is some very minor foxing. Slight surface discolouration. The frame has some minor scuffing and marks.
