L. Erich - Impressively Framed Original 19th Century Oil. This is a stunning nautical scene presented in an impressive period gilt frame, with an eagle design to the outer edge and ornate floral work to the inner edge. The painting is signed to the lower right. For a more detailed view of the frame, please see other images. Signed. On canvas. Some light surface dirt and discoloured varnish typical of a painting this age. Areas of fine old craquelure in the sky, but the paint layer is sound and stable. Inspection under UV light shows some scattered restorations. The frame has some wear but generally the condition is fine.
