A delicate and gentle etched study of a fragile fawn with slight sepia tones. The artist has signed in graphite at the lower right and monogrammed and dated in plate at the upper right. There is a German blind stamp at the lower left.The etching has been presented in a simple wood frame with card mount. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing across the surface.

Artist Biography
Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt was born in Leipzig in 1985 and died in Munich in 1977. He studied at the Weimar Academy of Fine Arts under Lyonel Feininger and Theodor Hagen. Declining a professorship at Weimar, he went to Munich where he decided to work on producing engravings of animals. Since 1917 he had been published by Hanfstaengl in Munich, a copper print shop, who owns the copyright of his archive and other artists.
