Kenneth Holmes after Andrea del Sarto - Original Mid 20th Century Mezzotint. Signed. On chine-collé. Some foxing as shown in photos.

Kenneth Holmes (1902-1981). Painter, printmaker, writer, designer and teacher. Born in Skipton, Yorkshire. Holmes attended Leeds College of Art 1921 - 1923 and The Royal College of Art 1923 - 1927. Held a number of design consultancy posts and teaching positions, finally as principal of Leicester College of Art from 1934 - 1956. Exhibited RA, NEAC, RHA, in the provinces and abroad and showed with war artists at the National Gallery, London during WW2. The Victoria and Albert Museum and several provincial galleries hold his work. He was noted as a fine architectural draughtsman. Lived in Leicester but retired near Boscastle, Cornwall.
