Overall the condition is very good for a picture of this age. Some discolouration to the paint and a small black mark to the upper right. Scuffs around the edge of the panel, resulting in some paint loss. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Marks and scuffs to the frame.

He often signed his works using pseudonyms, including C. von Erlach, Henri Carnier, J. Holmstedt, Charles Marchand, J. Rollin, F. Hernik, Leo Perla, L. Bertini, H. Rohr, F. Kowski, K. Schwartz, B. Lambert, J. Breton, Carl Apati Hanka, G. Marzani, and F. Langer, amongst others.
