Description

A view of a village which is reflected in a slow-moving river. Presented glazed in a cream triple mount and a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame with an ornate outer edge. Signed to the lower-left edge. There is a plaque at the lower edge inscribed with the name of the artist. On watercolour paper.

Condition

There is some slight discolouration around the edges but overall in very good condition.

Artist Biography

Justus Hill (1848-1925) was a British artist, active in London. He primarily painted genre scenes in oil and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1879 to 1891.
