Judith Rothchild (b.1950) is a printmaker and painter born in Boston, Massachusetts. She studied at Sarah Lawrence College and the Art Students’ League in New York City, as well as the Boston University Tanglewood Summer Institute. In 1970, she began her studies in visual arts at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she received a B.A. degree in Fine Arts. She then moved to Europe to continue her training at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna. Specialising in mezzotint printmaking, Rothchild has established a strong international reputation. Rothchild has exhibited widely in both Europe and America, and her work is included in numerous international public collections including the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, Harvard University, Yale University, New York Public Library, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France.
