A captivating watercolour painting by well-listed Irish artist Joseph Poole Addey. The scene depicts a landscape view with several trees at Oxshott Heath, Surrey. Signed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. Well-presented in a white card mount and in a distressed gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, light foxing and small surface marks. Some trapped dirt underneath the glazing. Minor scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography
Joseph Poole Addey (1855-1922) was a painter, born in Dublin. Addey studied at the Cork School of Art in Dublin and in London at the South Kensington Schools. He was for many years the Headmaster of Londonderry Art School and also taught at the Dublin Metropolitan School of Art. He exhibited at the RHA, Belfast Art Society, RA and at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Towards the end of his life, he relocated to London where he taught perspective at the Slade School of Art. Crawford Art Gallery. Addey died in England.
