There is some mild textural irregularity to an area of restoration at the upper edge. Inspection under UV light reveals a small area of retouching to the roof of the central building. There are some small cracks to the panel, some small paint losses around the edges, and some mild discolouration to the varnish.

Joseph Edward Homerville Hague (1855-1937) was a painter born on the Isle of Wight, Hampshire about whom little is known. He is usually referred to as Homerville Hague and lived variously in Cookham, Maidenhead, and Wallingford, sending in works from these locations to the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Dudley Gallery Art Society, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, New English Art Club, The New Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Society of British Artists and Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He died in Southampton, Hampshire.
