Painter, born at Cerne Abbas, Dorset. He was artistically educated at Leigh's Academy and then at the RA Schools and painted genre pictures and occasional religious allegories. He showed only occasionally at RBSA, RHA, RI, GI and several times at the RA and ROI. His work is in the collection of the Laing Art Gallery, Maidstone Art Gallery, Museums Sheffield, Newport Museum and Art Gallery, Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, Tate Gallery and in the Adelaide Museum and Art Gallery, Australia. His death was recorded in Thanet, Kent. His nephew was artist Joseph Benwell Clark.
