A very fine watercolour with beautiful character showing a young girl in a torn dress, red apron and blue jacket holding a basket of vegetables. The restrained nature of this painting shows a very skilled hand with the medium.
The artist has signed to the lower right quadrant. The painting is presented in a gilt effect, glazed frame and a gold mount. The frame has beaded strap work on the outer edges and floral strap work around the inner window.
On watercolour paper.The painting is in remarkably good condition for its age with only slight discolouration to the paper. The frame and mount are also in fine condition.
