A fine watercolour painting by the artist John Wilson Hepple, depicting a lake view in Killarney, a town on the shores of Lough Leane in southwest Ireland’s County Kerry. Location is inscribed on the reverse of the painting. Signed and dated to the lower left-hand corner. Well-presented in a washline card mount and in a distressed gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. Minor marks to the mount and some scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography
Painter of landscapes in oil and watercolour, born in Gateshead, the son of Wilson Hepple and grandfather of Norman Hepple. An amateur artist, he became a teacher of English at a technical school in Newcastle and painted in his spare time. There is no record of J.W. Hepple having exhibited his work.
