Artist Biography

Born in Glasgow in 1865, John Terris was the son of a leather worker. The family resided in Birmingham for several years after leaving Scotland. Terris studied at Birmingham School of Art and exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Dowdeswells, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, and the Royal Academy of Arts. The Atkinson Art Gallery hold examples of his work.
