John Lewis Stant (1905-1964) was a printmaker who was born in Dudley, Staffordshire. Known as Jack Stant to his family, in 1934 he married Dorothy Cash in Birmingham and migrated to St Ives soon after. He was a member of St Ives Society of Artists (1935-1937) and also exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, and Royal Scottish Academy. His death was recorded in Tonbridge, Kent.
