John Joseph Potts (1844-1933) was a painter of landscapes and genre pictures born in Newcastle upon Tyne. An accountant by training, he was a gifted amateur artist and a founder member of the Bewick Club in Newcastle. Noted for Welsh scenes, he showed locally in the North East and at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
