Description

This endearing stable scene depicts two draught horses watering beneath the arched ceiling of a rustic barn. Warm golden light filters through the interior as the working horses take a rest. The painting is beautifully presented in a wooden frame with a decorative rebate moulding. Signed 'J Barker' in the lower left. On canvas.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age. Inspection under UV light reveals evidence of restoration and small areas of overpainting. There is some craquelure to the surface and light abrasions to the perimeter of the canvas. Light wear to the wooden frame and rebate moulding. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
