John George Mathieson (1880-1954) was a fine artist who lived and worked in the Stirling area of Central Scotland, exhibiting between 1918 and 1940. A prolific etcher of landscapes, he showed twenty-one works at the Royal Scottish Academy, 101 at the Wigmore Gallery, one at the Royal Academy, and eighteen at the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
