John G. Hall (1921-2006) was a British artist. He grew up in Cottingham, Hull. Showing a natural aptitude for drawing from an early age, his art training was interrupted by the Second World War when he served in Ceylon. He subsequently trained at Hull College of Arts and Crafts before beginning his teaching career at the Cambridge School of Art in what is now Anglia Ruskin University. Hall's favoured subjects were landscapes, which he usually painted directly from life. He also painted flowers, still lifes, and portraits in the studio he built at his home in Linton. He worked prolifically, producing a large body of work during his lifetime.
