This impressively sized watercolour painting by John Francis Salmon (1808-1886) depicts a busy maritime scene with sailing vessels anchored in calm waters, smaller boats laden with supplies, and numerous figures populating the dock. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a gilt-effect frame. On paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some discolouration and foxing. Small holes to the upper right corner of the page, which have been overpainted. Minor wear and scuffs to the frame.
