Description
A fine hand-coloured engraving, 'Plate 71', after the original 100 hand-coloured engraved plates by J. Edwards, Ferner, W. Darling and I. Fougeron after drawings by J. Edwards. The first issue was published in monthly parts in 1769-1770 under the title 'Edwards's British Herbal', with the second issue following shortly afterwards in 1770. On laid paper, laid to thick card. Artist's name and date engraved within plate lines.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, mount burn and surface marks. There are some small tears to the margins.
