A fine early 20th Century mezzotint with aquatint, showing a beautiful, panoramic view of the Venice skyline with groups of cloth merchant boats, airing their wares on the water in front of the Doge's Palace and Saint Mark's Square. The artist has signed to the lower right in graphite and the publisher's dates and details are inscribed in plate at the upper edge. The mezzotint is on chin colle laid to heavy wove. On chin colle laid to heavy wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a repaired tear to the backing wove at the lower right and three repaired tears at the upper edge of the backing wove. None of these affect the image.
