This romantic oil depicts a small grove of woodland trees, highlighted by an atmospheric pink evening sky. Signed with initials to the lower left. Well presented in a contemporary gilt painted frame.On wood panel.

In fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Artist Biography
Painter who was educated at Cambridge University, then studied at Westminster School of Art, 1926–9, with Walter Bayes. Showed at RBA, RCamA, Paris Salon and Lincolnshire Artists’ Society, sometimes just signing work J B. Lincoln’s Usher Gallery holds his works: A Break in the Clouds, November Sky and Humberstone Foreshore, all presented by Sir Hickman Bacon in the 1930s. Lived at Grimsby, Lincolnshire
