Artist Biography
British painter John Bawtree qualified as an architect before deciding to pursue the life of a full-time artist.
He received a Greenshield Foundation Award in 1978, when he held his first London exhibition, which was in Mayfair. He has travelled extensively and has since had over forty one-man exhibitions, as well as diversifying into occasional architectural work, murals and illustration for TV.
His most successful exhibitions have been at the Piers Feetham Gallery, London; Melitensia Gallery, Malta and the Aldeburgh Cinema Gallery.
