A beautiful 19th-century sampler, hand-embroidered by Jemma Johnston, aged 9. The alphabet, numerals, peacocks and flowers have all been meticulously stitched, with most of the threads' vibrancy intact. Well presented under glass in a gilt-effect frame. On linen.Condition
Discolouration and staining visible to the linen substrate. Small holes to the lower third. Overall, the textile is in very good condition for its age.
