Description

A beautifully lyrical depiction of a heron in oil. The bird is surrounded in swirling greenery and its elegant form stretches the full height of the painting. The artist has initialed to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a simple lime-washed wood frame with white card mount. On paper.

Artist Biography

As Jean M. McCallum Webster, she married at Southwold in 1981, Alexander William John Turnbull (19 July 1922-22 November 1993) but continued to work under the name of Jean Webster. A landscape and portrait paint, and a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1965-1978 from Walberswick, Suffolk. A class tutor to adult painting classes in the late 1970's and early 1980's, who worked in Walberswick and lived at Millcroft, Millfield Road, Southwold, Suffolk.
