James Ward after Wm Beechey - Original 1799 Mezzotint. With engraving and hand-colouring. "King George III (1738-1820, Reigned 1760-1820) Reviewing the Third or Prince of Wales's Regiment of Dragoon Guards & the Tenth or Prince of Wales's Regiment of Light Dragoons". Published by J. Ward, 6 Newman Street, London, 1 June 1799. After a painting by Sir William Beechey (1753-1839). This would be much improved in appearance if the original hand colouring were to be touched up. The entire area inside the plate is intact without losses. Signed in plate. On wove. Trimmed outside the plate. Original hand colouring is faded and abraded. Folds lower right. 2cm and 3 cm closed tears bottom edge. Foxing and age toning as pictured.
