An interesting watercolour of the pier on the Isle of Gigha in Scotland. The artist has signed to the lower right, On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some even discolouration and a small area of restored watercolour to the lower right.

James Heron was a Scottish artist who lived in Edinburgh, and painted many Fife scenes, harbours, farmyard scenes and landscapes around Scotland. Heron exhibited at the Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture, known as the RSA.
