A charming watercolour study of a lake scene set against the mountains. We can see reeds sticking out of the water in the foreground along with a range of trees leading towards the mountains. Signed to the lower right.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some even discolouration.

Collection Information

James Heron was a Scottish artist who lived in Edinburgh, and painted many Fife scenes, harbours, farmyard scenes and landscapes around Scotland. Heron exhibited at the Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture, known as the RSA.
