A classic looking still life, painted with a modern twist by French artist Jacques Blanchard (1912-1992). Elegant soft fruits have been exquisitely captured on a rippled edge plate, next to a scattering of green almonds and a glinting brandy glass. Even more striking is the soft violet background that flips to mint green at the lower half of the scene. Signed to the lower right. The oil has been well presented in a soft linen slip and wide gilt-effect frame.
On board.There is one light scratch visible on the surface of the painting. Otherwise in fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
