The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There several deep scratches to the lower edge of the frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.

Jacqueline Lesley Rizvi was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire. She studied Art History at the Regent Street Polytechnic and then at the Chelsea School of Art. Early on in her career she was a lecturer in Art History as well as working as an illustrator. In 1978 she submitted a seascape to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and was shown there for the first time. In the years that followed, she gained recognition as a landscape and still life artist, becoming an elected member of the New English Art Club (1982) and Royal Watercolour Society (1986). Her work has been exhibited numerous times in solo and group shows across the UK. She has also been commissioned by Saatchi and Saatchi, Transport for London and St. Mary's Hospital for a variety of works; from posters to murals.
Today she lives in Hastings, East Sussex. It is an environment that continually informs her style of painting, inspired by the sea and natural light.
