J. Wilson - Late 19th Century Watercolour, Cheddar Village

Item Sold

A picturesque view of the road running through the village of Cheddar in Somerset. The road curves off into the impressive cliffs of Cheddar valley. The artist has signed to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a textured plaster frame with swept corners and rail. The frame has a cream internal slip and glazing. There is a label at the reverse with the artist's name and another department store label. On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has a loss to the rail at the right side and a scratch to the top textured layer of finish to the lower edge.
