A majestic three-masted clipper ship at full sail, painted in finely detailed watercolour. A lighthouse can be seen on the cliffs beyond. Signed to the lower right. Inscribed to the lower left 'Clippership "Sussex" Master T.S. Johns'. Well presented in a wooden frame with carved running patterns and a gold slip. On watercolour paper.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age, including some foxing. Darker marks to the righthand side of the paper; however, this seems to have been created by the artist at the time of painting. Small scuffs and marks to the frame.
