J. Elliot - Late 19th Century Oil The Well Dressed Fisherman

Description

A fine 19th Century landscape with an unusually well dressed man in suit and top hat, fishing at the edge of a river. Two figures can be seen standing on a distant viaduct over the water. The artist has signed to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a 19th Century gilt slip. On canvas board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a white bloom over areas of the surface. The slip has surface scuffing and losses to the gilt and plaster.
