This significant collection of works in oil, watercolour and pastel is reminiscent of the expressionistic oils of Frank Auerbach and David Bomberg, with additional influences of the Cornish coast.
Ivan Bray (b.1967) is a painter based in Penzance, Cornwall. Born in Wales, Ivan lived in various countries before moving to Western Australia at the age of 15. While still an adolescent, he attended Claremont School of Art in Perth.
Bray won the prestigious Mandorla Art Award in 1989 and has exhibited widely in Australia and the United Kingdom. Amongst others, his work is represented in the collections of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Kerry Stokes Collection, The University of Western Australia, Murdoch University and private collections in the United Kingdom, France, Norway and Australia.
