A farm worker pauses for a rest on his cart in this charming rural scene by Isidore Meyers (1836–1917). Meyers employs an impressionistic style with broad, expressive brushstrokes. The work is signed to the lower left and is well presented in an ornate gilt frame with a fluted cove, foliate corners, and lamb's tongue and beaded running patterns. On panel.
