Description

A truly exceptional watercolour depicting a classical mother and child in temple ruins. They hold grapes and there is a lake landscape beyond. Inscribed to the reverse- "Isabella Ogilby, Barrow Hedges. Oct 21st 1840". On wove.

Condition

There is a closed 1.5cm tear to the lower edge and some discolouration to the edges of the page, otherwise in fine condition.
