A wonderful gouache study showing a pair of elephants drinking from a basin, accompanied by a young man. Completed with an extremely fine brush the cross-hatching perfectly captures the textures of the elephant's rough skin. The gold effect detail enhances the ornate patterns which adorn the elephants ankles, back and tusks. Beautifully presented in a double card mount and modern gilt effect frame. Unsigned. On wove.
Condition
There is some light foxing to the page and discolouration to the margins of the artwork. Overall the appearance is very good.
