Indian Miniatures - Early 20th Century Gouache Elephant Fight
Description
A dramatic and highly detailed Indian miniature scene in gouache, picked out in gilt. Two elaborately dressed elephants are engaged in a vicious battle, spurred on by their riders. The brush work is incredibly detailed with minuscule lines, creating fantastically fine features on the faces of the men and beautiful patterns in the elephants saddles. The painting has been presented in a simple would frame with layered cotton mount with gilt detailing. On cotton.Condition
