Ina Hooft (1894–1994) was a Dutch painter known primarily for her still lifes, floral compositions, and portraits. She was born in The Hague and studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, later continuing her training at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and the Vrije Studio in The Hague. Hooft developed a quiet, observational style often associated with impressionistic realism. Her work included paintings, watercolours, drawings, and textile art, frequently depicting flowers, interiors, and everyday objects. She exhibited widely in the Netherlands and participated in the major 1939 exhibition Onze Kunst van Heden at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Throughout her career, Hooft was an active member of Dutch artists’ societies including Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam and Pulchri Studio in The Hague, and she also taught a number of younger artists. Her work is held in collections such as the Kunstmuseum Den Haag and the Rijksmuseum. Hooft spent her later years in Laren, where she died in 1994 at the age of 100, leaving behind a long career dedicated to the quiet beauty of everyday subjects.
